આ શ્હેર... - રમેશ પારેખ

આ શ્હેર તમારા મનસૂબા ઉથલાવી દે, કહેવાય નહીં
આ ચહેરા પર બીજો ચહેરો ચિપકાવી દે, કહેવાય નહીં

આ સંકેતો, આ અફવાઓ, આ સંદર્ભો, આ ઘટનાઓ
આખેઆખો નકશો ક્યારે બદલાવી દે, કહેવાય નહીં

ઘરને ઘર કહીએ તો આ ઘર એક લૂનો ચોરસ દરિયો છે
ભરતી છે : દરિયો શું શું ડુબાવી દે, કહેવાય નહીં

સપનાંના છટકરસ્તે અહીંથી ભાગી નીકળે છે આંખો, પણ
પાંપણનું ખૂલી પડવું, પાછી સપડાવી દે, કહેવાય નહીં

દ્રશ્યો-દ્રશ્યો જંગલ-જંગલ ચશ્માં-ચશ્માં ધુમ્મસ-ધુમ્મસ
રસ્તા-રસ્તા પગલું-પગલું ભટકાવી દે, કહેવાય નહીં

ટાવર ધબકે, રસ્તા ધબકે, અરધો-પરધો માણસ ધબકે
કોનો ધબકારો કોણ અહીં અટકાવી દે, કહેવાય નહીં

મનસૂબા આ શહેર ઉથલાવી તો જૂએ.
આ ચહેરા તણા રંગને બદલાવી તો જૂએ.

આગાના દરિયાઓ ઉથેલાછે પાગલ હ્ર્દયમા
હિમ્મત હોયતો આવે કોઇબૂઝાવી તો જુએ.


માટી પગા છીએં કે ડરાવે સંકેતો,અફવાઓ,
નક્શોતો શું એક રેખા પણ ઉડાવી તો જૂએ.

આકાશના ઘર નીચે સ્વાસેછે લાખો લોક;
સમુંદરની ભરતી આકાશને ડુબાવી તો જુએ.

આંખો કદી સપન રાહથી ભાગતી નથી;
પાપણ ખુલ્યા પછી એ સપન લાવી તો જુઓ.

ખેડવાછે જંગલ રણો ,ઝાંઝવા, ધુમ્મસી દર્દ્
રસ્તા ડરના,સંદેહના પગલાં ભટકાવી તો જુએ.

ટાવર રસ્તા પ્રણહીન ધબકાર તારા અસ્તિત્વથી
હામ હો તારા જિગરમા તને અટકાવી તો જુએ.

"વફા" આહની ઈરાદાથી નીકળ્યાછે અમે તો;
કફન માથા ઉપર બાંધેલછે કોઇ બીવડાવી તો જુએ.

I also like the "tyare salu laagi aave" a very touching song (it has been sung by Shyamal-Saumil and also Soli kapadia) I would like to see it on the blog!:)

"tyare salu laagi aave" happens to be my favorite ghazal too, and i too would like to see it on this blog... i heard Shyamal-Saumil sing it in a live Show by the name of "Jaajarman Gujarati Jalso" sponsered by Samanvay and Gujarat Samachar [Feb 14, 2006 thru Feb 16, 2006] in Ahmedabad. I did some followup regarding it, and i found out that the whole concert is available in CD format.
