પલ -મણિલાલ દેસાઈ

સરકી જાયે પલ...
કાળ તણું જાણે કે એ તો વરસે ઝરમર જલ !

નહીં વર્ષામાં પૂર,
નહીં ગ્રીષ્મ મહીં શોષાય,
કોઈના સંગનિ:સગની એને
કશી અસર નવ થાય,
ઝાલો ત્યાં તો છટકે એવી નાજુક ને ચંચલ !

છલક છલક છલકાય
છતાં યે કદી શકી નવ ઢળી,
વૃન્દાવનમાં,
વળી કોઈને કુરુક્ષેત્રમાં મળી,
જાય તેડી પોઢેલાંને યે નવે લોક, નવ સ્થલ !

Excellent little poem (geet) with noticable use of 'pras'. If I reacall correcly, Manilal Desia was also a godd gazalkar of the early time (kalapi,shayada,kantharia etc) and more Gujarati than urdu oriented.

Manilal Desai was born much later in 1939. He died at a very young age in 1966. He published only one kavyasangrah but gave us many memorable poems.

Am I correct about his gazal style?
or there is (more or less) some other name during early Gujarati gazal?
